About Kintsugi
Throughout this year I have centered my creative process around ideas of body image and how our image of ourselves is not only shaped by ourselves, but also by the circles we surround ourselves with and the social media and influencers that we choose to follow.

For this collection, I was inspired by the Japanese art form of "Kintsugi", which is the process in which broken ceramics are repaired by using gold. It has then come to represent within my collection that from the brokenness we have beauty, and what society deems to be our "imperfections" are actually the elements that make us worth more as human beings.

I wish to challenge the viewer to work on their internalised fatphobia and skinnyphobia by working with an array of different body types and showing that no matter where on the body spectrum you fall, you are a work of art in your own right.

I also wish to inspire everyone who sees this to embrace their imperfections, because when one begins to truly love and unconditionally accept themselves - then you truly become an unstoppable force.
